The Huck Finn Fishing Derby and Campout is an annual event hosted by the Community Services Department. The event takes place in April of 2017. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to get their first experience camping and fishing in a friendly environment close to home.
The campout requires pre-registration at the Community Services Office, located at 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA, 91024. Campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis and typically sell out each year. Included in the campout registration fee is admission into the fishing derby the following morning. Campout activities includes a campfire, stargazing and roasting marshmallows!

No pre-registration is required for the fishing derby, entrance fees and forms are located at the entrance next to Dapper Field in Sierra Vista Park. There is a catch limit of three fish during the fishing derby, but participants can come back later in the day to fish with no limit.
Family fishing is available on Saturday from 12:30pm-4:00pm and Sunday from 7:00am-4:00pm. Family fishing is open to all ages and there are no catch limits. Fishing licenses are not required, only a one day entrance fee.
